Update on our ongoing negotiations with the city. Unfortunately, it's become clear that there's a significant gap between what we are proposing, and believe our members expect, with what the city has brought to the table. Initially, we had hoped to gather additional input from our members during the negotiations process through surveys to guide how funds would be allocated in our contract. Regrettably, we haven't had financial options to present monetary options to our members. We’ve worked with our attorneys, other employee units, and our negotiations team to explore all available options moving forward.
Next week, we'll be holding meetings at the American Italian Club on Tuesday and Wednesday at 0900, where we'll present these options to our membership. These meetings will also include a vote on the Peak Time Rescue Side Agreement, which will be the first item on the agenda. That vote will happen by a ballot with only two options; “yes” or “no”. We will need volunteers to help conduct this vote, if you are interested in helping please sign up by clicking here.
It's important to clarify that these meetings WILL NOT RESULT IN ANY VOTE TO RATIFY A CONTRACT. Our aim is to provide our membership with the available options and give us direction on the path forward.
Additionally, there are several developments in the Operations division that we want to bring to your attention. While ERP usage was minimal in the initial months of the year, we've observed an uptick with the onset of spring and spring break.
