We have concluded our two-day contract ratification meetings, and I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated. Your involvement is crucial to our collective efforts.
The results of the vote: out of 163 votes cast, 123 were "yes", while 40 were "no". This represents a 75.5% approval, surpassing the 2/3 threshold required by our bylaws for ratification. Thus, the contract has been officially ratified. The image below shows the "yes" ballots on the right and the "no" ballots on the left.
We understand and share your frustration regarding the stagnation in compensation increases. However, this outcome equips us to advocate more fiercely for critical resources. Our focus now shifts to addressing the significant shortages in firefighting trucks and stations, which are essential for handling the increasing number of calls in our rapidly growing community in Phoenix.
We encourage you to stay actively engaged with the Fire Crisis campaign. Your support will be vital as we push for the funding needed to expand and enhance our resources.
